More About Bengals
Quick Overview
Bengals are very intelligent and active cats who, like many other breeds, need high places so they’re able to watch/judge their servants (us) at work. They enjoy a plethora of toys and activities to keep them occupied; for this reason, having another cat or animal is best since they can become mischievous when bored if you’re unable to devote many hours a day to them. They look like miniature leopards since they’re a hybrid breed of cat, which originated from the breeding of the Asian leopard cat with a domesticated cat.
Personality
Many people may say that these cats can be too high-strung or needy, but that depends on your tolerance and availability to them. As with any other animal (or even kids!) if they’re not given attention and not all of their needs are met, yes, they will become mischievous and possibly destroy things or become unruly. Some bengals are more laid-back than others but that’s really the luck of the draw or your choosing of the kitten. Some Bengals may want to constantly play while others may want to be a constant lap-cat and there are always the ones that are in-between. Typically speaking, these cats will have more energy than the average domestic cat due to their breed and athletic body.
Appearance
These cats are roughly the size of any other average house cat, ranging from 8-15 lbs. They have short dense coats, whose color can range from snow to black. The rosettes/spotted or marbled patterns is what really makes them stand out since they’re the only breed with these distinct markings. Their coats are very soft to the touch and dense; comparable to the feeling of a bunny rabbit’s fur.
What is the cost of a Bengal cat?
The cost of a Bengal kitten is determined by factors such as the breeder, the kitten's age, and its lineage. Typically, Bengal kittens are priced between $1,500 and $2,500, with an average of around $2,000. That said, prices may start as low as $800 and can go up to $10,000 or even higher.
Is a Bengal Cat a Good Pet?
Bengal cats possess a range of desirable qualities that make them excellent family pets. They are trainable, intelligent, agile, entertaining to observe and interact with, devoted, and have an affinity for water. Additionally, they are vocal and expressive, as well as highly sociable with humans. When introduced to dogs or other cats in their environment from an early age, they are adept at forming strong bonds and engaging in social interactions.
